Here is a guide to several different types of tea:

Aloe Vera Tea  - aloe vera plants are members of the lily family native to Africa.   Aloe tea made with the loose herbs, honey and mint is a great tea for digestive problems.  Aloe loose herbs are also used for sunburn.  Soak in a cool bath with a few tablespoons of aloe vera to take the sting out of your sunburn and to promote healing.

Anise Tea - tea made from this herb is sometimes used as a diet aid.  Anise tea is sweet and spicy - drink it when you crave something sweet.  You will have the added benefit of sweet breath.

Blessed Thistle - this herb is especially helpful for women as it regulates hormone balance.  One caveat - it also is an appetite stimulant.  Therefore, it is an excellent herbal tea for a sick person who has lost their appetite

Burdock Tea - Burdock is a member of the thistle family and  is a time tested remedy for rheumatism due to the fact that it is a fantastic cleanser of uric acid and waste.  Relieve your painful joints with some burdock tea with honey and milk. It also supports healthy intestinal flora which is one of the steps in naturally fighting yeast infections.

Cranberry Tea - fight frequent bladder infections by drinking either hot or iced cranberry tea.  Cranberry is a powerful E. Coli fighter and has the advantage over cranberry juice by being 100% cranberry with no additives.

Feverfew Tea - warm feverfew tea is relaxing and makes a wonderful tonic to treat and prevent migraine headaches.  Fewerfew is a natural antihistamine so it also is effective against allergic reactions and hay fever.

Pau d'Arco Tea helps build your immune system. Click here to go to our Pau d'Arco page.

Lemon Balm Tea - lemon balm  has antiviral, antibacterial and antidepression properties.  A few leaves steeped in a cup of hot water makes a sweetly-scented delicious tea to chase away melancholy.

Nettle Leaves contain calcium, iron protein and potassium which makes it a fantastic energy building tea.  Nettle Leaf tea also acts as an diuretic -useful in treating cystitis.

Sip some Valerian Root tea prior to going to bed to calm and relax your nerves.  It is a very effective sleep aid.

Our favorite everyday teas at the shop:

  • Honeydew Melon White Tea and Asian Jasmine White Tea - white tea harvested from China's Fujian Province.  As the names suggest the melon tea is sweet with the taste of melon and the jasmine is a very aromatic tea.  Vendor - The Republic of Tea
  • Earl Grey Tea - black tea with the scent of Bergamot. Vendor - Tazo
  • Darjeeling - also a black tea.  Because of it's wonderful flavor, this tea is often referred to as the champagne of teas.  It has a nutty and floral aromatic scent.  Vendor - Tazo
