Recipes to Make Hand Milled Soap

Peppermint Lavender Soap - two tablespoons of ground Peppermint leaf,  a few drops of Lavender and Peppermint essential oil.  This is a great wake up soap for your morning shower or bath.
 
Oily Skin Healing Soap - two tablespoons of ground Lemon peel, Eucalyptus and a few drops of  Lemon essential oils.  Lemon is a wonderful essential oil for oily skin.  Lemon and Eucalyptus both have antifungal and antiviral properties - good for controlling surface bacteria.
 
Aphrodisiac Soap - one tablespoon of ground Jasmine flowers, one quarter teaspoon of very finely ground Almonds and a few drops of Jasmine essential oil.  Jasmine has long been considered an aphrodisiac.  In Ancient Egypt women rolled jasmine flowers in their hair prior to retiring for the evening.
 
Remembrance Soap  - 1 tablespoon of Thyme, 1 tablespoon of ground Chamomile flowers and a few drops of Rosemary essential oil.  Rosemary is the essential oil of Remembrance and is widely used at weddings.   Chamomile is consecrated to St. Anne - the mother of the Virgin.  Thyme is added for it's antiseptic properties.
 
Flower of Flowers Soap - 1 tablespoon of ground Rose buds and a few drops each of Ylang Ylang, Lavender and Sandalwood essential oils.  Ylang Ylang translates to Flower of Flowers.  The combination of the essential oils provides a light, floral feminine soap.  Ylang Ylang is tradionally known as a love drawing oil.
 
Dry Skin Soap - 1 tablespoon rolled oats,  1 teaspoon Lavender flowers, 1/4 cup of rosewater, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil (reduce the amount of milk and almond oil you use in the same amount) and a few drops each of   Lavender and Geranium essential oils.   Lavender and Geranium are great essential oils for skin irritations.  The addition of rolled oats, rosewater and coconut oil are additionally soothing.   






Sea Kelp Soap2 tablespoons of Sea Kelp.  Sea Kelp is vitamin and mineral rich.  It contains iodine, iron, sodium, calcium, potassium, Vitamins A, B1, B2, C, D and E.  Sea Kelp is classified as a brown algae.  Depending on how fond you are of the smell of sea weed you might want to add Peppermint or Eucalyptus essential oil.

Soothe your Emotions - 1 tablespoon of ground Hibiscus flowers and a few drops each of  Lavender and Geranium essential oils.  Lavender is a wonderful anti-depression essential oil.  Geranium balances the production of sebum which makes it valuable for skin that is excessively oily or dry.  Hibiscus flowers are well known for their soothing properties.

Protective Soap - 2 tablespoons of ground juniper berries, 1 teaspoon of ground Eucalyptus leaf, Eucalyptus and a few drops each of  Lemon and Lavender essential oils.  Juniper berries are said to banish all things injurious to good health.  The addition of the Eucalyptus, Lemon and Lavender provide calming and healing balancing properties.

Tea Tree Soap - my favorite travel soap with 1 teaspoon each of Mint, Cilantro and Green Tea with a few drops of Tea Tree essential oil.  Tea Tree is a extremely efficient antifungal, antiseptic and antiviral essential oil.   This is my most used essential oil.  I use the soap and I keep a spray bottle of tea tree infused water to disinfect.

Venus Soap - 1 tablespoon of ground raspberry leaf and a few drops of Clary Sage essential oil.  Raspberry is the flower of Venus.  Clary Sage essential oil is very effective in balancing female mood swings. Clary Sage has a musk like scent that is regulating and relaxing.
