Japanese Bath Salts -  to make Japanese bath salts assemble the following ingredients:
  • 8 ounces of finely ground Dead Sea Salts.  Dead Sea Salts have a higher mineral content than generic sea salt and are famous for their healing and therapeutic properties.  If you can not find Dead Sea Salt use sea or kosher salt.
  • 2 tablespoons each of dried Chamomile and Calendula flowers
  • 1 tablespoon of ground Juniper berries
  • 1 teaspoon of Lemon pure essential oil.
  • Glass jar with top to use to mix and store your sea salts.
  • Small muslin bag.  You could also add your sea salt directly to your bath water from the glass jar.  Just make sure the sea salt is completely dissolved prior to entering the bath.

Combine all the ingredients in the glass jar, replace the lid and gently shake.  If you like, add more essential oil until the sea salt is scented to your personal satisfaction.

Place about 1/4 cup of the sea salt mixture into the muslin bag and swish the muslin bag in your bath water.  Most muslin bags are reusable so after your bath allow it to dry, empty any remains and save the muslin bag for your next bath.

Japanese Bath Essential Oil Mix - assemble the following supplies:
  • 1 tablespoon each of dried lemongrass and ginger
  • 10 - 20 drops of Jasmine essential oil.  Pure jasmine essential oil is very expensive so it is fine to use a 3% or 10% diluted oil.  Most diluted oils are mixed with sweet almond which is very beneficial for most skin types.
  • Dried or fresh jasmine flowers.

Crush the lemongrass and ginger and place in a heat resistant bowl with 1 cup of bowling water.  Let this mixture sit until it has cooled then add the jasmine essential oil.

Scatter the jasmine flowers in your bath and add the essential oil mixture.

Chilled Cucumber Face Cloth - slice and peel a cucumber.  Place the cucumber slices in a large bowl with chilled water and several ice cubes.  When the ice cubes have started to melt place a face cloth in the bowl and allow the face cloth to soak for a few minutes.

Squeeze the face cloth to remove the excess water.  Place a cucumber slice over each eye and place the face cloth over your face.  Repeat these steps in your bath as many times as you like.

Japanese Cleansing Mask - mix three teaspoons of plain yogurt with 1 drop of lemon essential oil.  Apply this mix to your face and throat (avoid your eye area).  Leave on your face for about ten minute and rinse with cool water or use the excess water from your cucumber mix.
