Aquamarine is my favorite gemstone.
It is also a very popular gemstone with surfers because it is said that it
provides safe passage over water as it is the gemstone of all sea goddesses and sirens.
The ancient Egyptians revered this stone and gifted Aquamarine to Anubis, one
of the gods of the netherworld, to assure safe passage.
Pairing the milky lustre of the Freshwater Pearls with the blue brilliance of the Aquamarine
makes a compelling contrast.
Supply List for the Aquamarine and Pearl Earrings:
- 2 Sterling silver earring hoops
- 6 sterling silver head pins
- I used 5mm faceted Aquamarine beads. Each earring required 13 beads for a total of 26 for a pair of earrings
- 10 approximately 4mm Freshwater Pearls.
- Round Nose pliers

Use your round nose pliers to slightly open the loop on the earring
hoop. Place your beads on the head pin. For this earring the head pin loop will be at the top. Use the pliers
to roll the excess head pin wire up towards the beads. Click on the pictures for a larger view.

Place the head pin on the earring hoop. Repeat this process for another dangler

Place your beads on the head pin alternating pearl and aquamarine.
For this dangler, form the excess head pin wire into a free form shape such as the zig-zag in the picture. You can use
the pliers or your fingers to do this.

Place all three danglers on the earring hoop. Using your pliers,
close the earring hoop loop. Repeat the entire process to make a pair of Aquamarine Pearl earrings.
