Gemstones from top to bottom:  Golden Topaz,   Rose Quartz, Turquoise,   Blue Topaz,  Tiger's Eye and Peridot.

 

 

Peridot

 

Peridot can be used as a talisman for protection, power and courage.

 

It serves as tonic for the whole body.  Peridot alleviates depression, anger fear and jealousy.  Peridot also protects it’s wearer from negativity.  In ancient Roman times those suffering from depression wore Peridot rings to raise their spirits. 

Peridot was used by ancient Egyptians, Aztecs, Incas to heal the physical heart.   This gemstone is best when set in gold.

Rose Quartz

 

Rose quartz is a beautiful pink love drawing gemstone.  It’s pink coloring is due to traces of mineral titanium.    This is a feminine stone that restores balance to the female emotions. 

 

It is know as a gemstone of gentle love, which brings peace to relationships.  It is a rejuvenating gemstone for both the physical body and the emotions.  It brings an excellent energy for healing emotional wounds and disappointments.

 

Rose quartz helps restore the love of self - before we can have a meaningful relationship with others we must first love and accept ourselves.  It also helps develop creativity.  Therefore it is the favorite stone of artists.

 

Ruby

 

Ruby is a  brilliant deep red precious gemstone.  Like Aventurine, Ruby will also amphlify the power of whatever gemstone with which it is worn. 

 

In magic, rubies were used as a wealth increasing stone as it was thought that carrying one around would attract monetary fortune, particularly if the stone was engraved with a dragon or a snake.

 

Ruby is also a very protective stone, thought to project a protective aura around the one who wears it, warding off sickness, foes, negativity, famine and malignant spirits.   Because of this, it was a stone prized by soldiers and even worn by Henry V of England into battle.

 

Ruby can instill a sense of peace and joy while strengthening confidence. 

 

 

Sodalite

 

Sodalite is a deep blue stone flecked with white.   It resembles Lapis Lazuli but is much more common.   It is a indigo colored gemstone so it has the attributes of healing.  However, indigo gemstones should be worn with care with those suffering from depression.  The color can serve to worsen the depressive feelings.  

 

Sodalite helps you make friends and eases the fear of the future.  Sodalite is a great gemstone for meditation and is worn to still the mind and calm inner turmoil.

 

Tiger’s Eye

 

Tiger’s Eye coloring ranges from gray to yellow to reddish brown.  It’s varied coloring is due to the mixing of quartz with iron.

 

Tiger’s Eye creates order out of chaos and brings clarity and focus to the mind.   It is also a gemstone used to attract beauty and fortune – especially when combined with Blue Topaz.  This stone is best suited to earthy people.

 

Tiger's Eye has been used to stimulate wealth and to enhance the stability required to maintain wealth.  This stability also extends to bringing scattered details together into a pattern and bringing inline your emotional and sexual needs.  Tiger’s Eye produces soothing vibrations and generates calmness.

 

Topaz

 

Topaz is a powerful magnetic stone that attracts love and fortune.  The two most popular colors are blue and golden yellow although it is also mined in light green, violet and colorless.  The Portugese call the colorless topaz ' pingos d'agoa' - drops of water.  And in some countries these colorless topaz are worn as diamonds although they lack the deep brilliance of an actual diamond.

 

It is a gemstone of the planet Mercury.  On the Mohs' scale of hardness (diamond being a 10) topaz is an 8 which makes it a fairly hard gemstone.

 

It brings emotions and intellect into balance and helps to find spiritual love.   Topaz is also an gemstone that attracts faithful friends.

 

Blue Topaz  with Moonstone is worn to help encourage the right circumstances and willpower for weight loss.

 

Tourmaline

 

Tourmaline is the alternative birthstone for October.  Pink Tourmaline attracts love and friendship.  As it is a pink gemstone it is used to balance the Heart Chakra. 

Pink tourmaline is a gemstone worn to balance a woman's feminine and masculine side.  As an interesting aside, gemstone lore recommends that a wife wear pink tourmaline and a husband wear green tourmaline in order to bring harmony to the household.

Tourmaline has a very short history as in the past green tourmaline was mistaken for emerald and pink tourmaline was mistaken for pink sapphire.  Tourmaline is also mined in red, blue, black, tourmalated and watermelon (a combination of red and green)
